I want to be able to give people limited access to a public folder of
contacts. The contact records hold private info, I have constructed a view
of the public info and want to be able to say "These people can have access
to this folder but only this view no others and the view is not editable

Can this be done?

Outlook does not support that.

I'd probably try using a custom form and some kind of validation to look for
particular users.

Patrick,
The only way around it is SQL server, or other database server...

As Sue said, Outlook does not support granting users view ability to only
one or two fields. Even with a form and some validation to show or hide
fields, the user will be able to create a custom view in the folder, and see
the contents of the private data.

Hope this helps
Jay
