With multiple accounts set up, anyone know how you can determine which one
the MailItem.Send method will use? If there's no way of specifying it, which
one will Outlook use by default?

Outlook will use whichever account you have set as the default, either in
the Tools | Accounts dialog in IMO mode or, in CW mode, on the Tools |
Services | Delivery tab.

I'm afraid it doesn't appear to - in my tests it certainly does not
necessarily send via the default account. My version of Outlook 2000 (IMO):
9.0.0.2711.

I'd be really interested in any pattern you discover to this.

What appears to be happening is this: Clicking the Send button (or Alt+S)
does NOT send via the default account - rather it appears to send via the
last used account, which may be different from the default. I believe that
MailtItem.Send is doing the same.
