Have tried multiple times to get Business Contact Manager
to work with Echange Server (on Small Business Server)
with no luck.

Have installed the update to Microsoft Office Outlook
2003 with Business Contact Manager. Microsoft states that
this "update allows Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 users
to configure a Microsoft Exchange Server service in their
mail profile, as long as the Exchange Server is a
Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003-based
computer" using Cached Exchange Mode.

When Outlook 2003 is started after configuring a BCM
enabled profile to use Exchange server a warning box
appears that reports that "The Business Contact Manager
has been removed from this profile..."

Any help would be appreciated,
Scott

Hmmm, that should only happen if you're NOT in cached mode. If you create a
new profile (make sure it's cached) does it still give the error?

Microsoft officially does not support using BCM with an Outlook profile that
includes an Exchange account, unless that account is on a Small Business
Server 2003 machine and you have installed the corresponding patch for BCM
from http://support.microsoft.com/?id=831747. If you add a BCM database to a
profile that includes Exchange from any other environment, the next time you
start Outlook, BCM will remove the database from the profile. However, as
described at http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/bcm.htm, it is possible to
install the patch and then hack the registry to make BCM work with a profile
that contains Exchange even if it isn't SBS 2003.

Sue,

Have followed all of the below; we use Exchange on a
Small Business Server 2003 machine and have installed the
patch on the client BCM machine with cache mode enabled.

Is there something we may have missed in the SBS/Exchange
setup?

I'd check to see if it works in a profile without Exchange.

It works on Exchange on SBS if you apply the hack to the
registry on the local machine with BCM.

Beside Outlook, http://cardfila.com is also a great choice for business contact manager. I am using CF 2.0 - its new app which helps me to make a call with any format of phone number, easily search card photos without internet connection.
