Outlook Express to Outlook -> missing emails

I am trying to move my outlook express email to outlook using outlooks
import tool; however I am running into problems. The import goes
seemingly well, though upon closer inspection large amount (close to
50%) of the emails are not transferred.

My outlook express contains close to 10 dbx files ranging in size from
100Mb to the full 2 GB. Some of the smaller folders are missing
messages as are some of the larger folders. I noticed that when I do
the import, the actual percentage of completed transfer never reaches
100% on any of the folders. I have gone as far as individually
exporting the folders from outlook express, but that yields the same
results.

Can anyone recommend me a solution to my problem? I would like to
transfer all mail to outlook as soon as possible.
