If within Outlook you chose to import msgs from OE then the modified date
would be set to the Import date, which has unintended consequences on the
outlook archive options, which works on the modified date

Exporting from OE should duplicate the folder structure you have. It only
works on the default identity, however. If you have multiple identities, you
have some work to do by switching identities around and organizing the
exported stuff in Outlook, unless you intend to merge all identities into one
mail profile.

In Outlook, click File>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail Account
Settings.

Thanks for the info :-)
Her ISP provides separate e-mail addresses for each user, hopefully it
will become clearer as to how two or more "profiles" operate in one
Outlook (OE kept it simple with "Identities")
(Without having to Log on and off from Windows XP)

Separate email addresses for each user does not necessarily equate to separate
identities in Outlook Express or separate profiles in Outlook. You can have
multiple accounts (a one-to-one correspondence exists between e-mail address
and account) in a single identity or mail profile. In either case, the
multiple accounts will utilize the same folder set (Inbox, Outbox, etc.).
Identities in OE allowed people to have separate folder sets and that's what
profiles do in Outlook. Outlook 2007 allows the specification of a separate
Inbox and Sent Items folders for each account within the same profile without
using rules, but those folders will be available to anyone using the mail
profile. Separate profiles allow one to completely isolate the folders for
each account and can prevent one person from being able to access the data of
the other person.
