I think because a key was held down to long that the keyboard locked up. We
can't type anything with the keyboard. We are able to received emails and
the mouse works fine.

How do I unlock the keyboard?

I have rebooted the PC with the problem prior to writing this group.
Keyboard still not available. There was an error message but the user didn't
understand what to do before it disappeared.

Does Outlook have a lock the keyboard feature which needs to be unlocked?

i can imagin why such a lock would be part of Outlook.

you could ttry the windows xp system restore feature to go bck a day or so
in terms of system settings and config. if the keyboard works on other
applications but not outlook, maybe try a repair install on Outlook?

Nope, it doesn't.
Tried it with a different keyboard already? Also turning the keyboard around
and giving it a gentle whack on the desk could help. You might be surprised
by the mess that comes out of it which could cause a stuck key or even total
failure of the keyboard.
