I just reinstalled Windows and then Office. I am trying to set up my Hotmail
acct in Outlook. Everything is set up correctly, but when I open Outlook, the
sign on box continually pops up with my password in it. I click on "OK" and
the box comes back instantly. If I click "Cancel", it goes away for a couple
of seconds, then comes back. After clicking "Cancel" a few times, it finally
stops. Then I click the "Send/Receive" button and an error comes up saying
"Task 'Hotmail: Folder: Inbox Synchronizing headers.'reported error
(0x800CCC32) :'Access to the account was denied. Verify that your username
and password are correct. The server responded 'Invalid login.'.'

Dear hotmailer,

your Outlook version is?

With different Outlook version you have different supported functions.

Have a look on this sites for some general information:

"Outlook 2007 Known Issues": (search for "hotmail")
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/known_issues.htm

"Cannot connect to Hotmail via Outlook 2007 "
http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=513673&SiteID=17

"Error message when you synchronize a Hotmail account in Outlook 2002,
Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007:
"The server could not be found"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292870/en-us

Check also your settings:
"How to configure Outlook to work with Hotmail" The first point is:

"How to configure a Hotmail account in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 on
Windows Vista"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287424/en-us

Maybe it helps.

I get this too and it just started after a reboot. I can use Outlook
2003 on my other machines to connect without a problem, but not on my
laptop. I have tried the patch at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/904942/en-us
but it did not work for me. I have also added hotmail.com, msn.com
and live.com to my trusted sites and no difference. Microsoft will
not help either...ARGH!

I just logged onto my problem machine with a different account and it
works fine, so this is a profile issue. If you don't mind
transferring your settings into a new account, it should work.
