Hi All
I have just signed up for the Office 2007 Beta and am using Outlook for my
Email and I have recived a PDF attachment (YES I have Acrobat Reader 7) when
you single click on the PDF attachment A message of "this file cannot be
previewed because there is no previewer installed for it"
So the question I am asking is does any one know if there is a plugin or
previewer avaiable like the acrobat piugin for Internet Explorer to let me
preview the PDF attachments in Outlooks preview plain. as his would save
opening yet another Program

Thanks in advance for any help in this

Not yet. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a previewer though
around RTM (not from Microsoft).

Do you know what they are doing for previewers? Desktop search can use the
ifilters to do previews. Seems silly to do something else. If they can use
ifilters, wonder why pdf doesn't work becuase I have the pdf ifilter
installed.

Sorry but no I dont what they are using but it may be internet explorer as
you can now ust the preview plain to view the web,
it made even more annoing when windows expolrer can thumbnail a preview of
the PDF and put a small preview on th side bar after the upgrade to acrobat
reader 7. it seems strange that microsoft wouldnt use a simaler featuer in
its mail program that they are targeting for business users

The features you are describing are probably due to Acrobat Reader from
Adobe and not due to Microsoft.
Microsoft is providing an API that 3rd parties (such as Adobe) can use
to write previewers for Outlook. However for PDF it is virtually
guaranteed that MS will not write a previewer itself, as MS wants to
avoid the legal issues associated with that (anti-trust suit from Adobe
in Europe e.g.).

Make sure you have Adobe Reader 8.1 installed. Also verify that you have the
previewer enabled.
