Line Spacing Format in New Outlook Mail

I have set up a background in my outlook new messages, along with my
signature line. I now have double spacing as Bill experienced in his Feb
23rd, 06 question.
Rather than having to hit shift+enter everytime; is there a way to format
this so I can achieve single spacing in my emails? that, and I still have a
double space before my signature line too. I need to eliminate that as well
if at all possible. I have tried the Delete, shift+enter on that, but it does
not eliminate the double space before my sig line.
