Is there any way to have it change the original?

Could this behavior be the cause to meeting requests "disappearing" from a
user standpoint?
There are many postings concerning managers/delegates and "disappearing"
meeting requests.
Our clients have Outlook 2003 with several managers sharing 1 executive. A
manager will send a meeting request and the other manager will accept. The
assistant knows he has accepted and accepts as well but does not send a
response.
The meeting is fine until the next morning when it has disappeared off
everyone's calendar.
Here is another example:
"I think i am having either the same issue or one very similar!..
Client has created a re-occuring meeting. When she needs to make a change to
one occurance she opens this in the calendar and selects “open this
occurance” rather than “open the series”.
Once change is made to meeting and “send update” button pressed. Client
reopens calendar to see new meeting with correct changes. Meeting now showing
as busy. The problem is as follows….
On closing and reopening of MS Outlook client goes back into calendar to
find the updated meeting in her calendar has disappeared - Also the original
meeting is not in calendar either. All other attendees have the meeting
showing in their calendars’, with the correct edited updates.
Have checked Blackberry settings and no different from other clients. Have
removed any delegates on clients calendar and client not working in cached
mode.
ANY IDEAS AT ALL????"
