what is a "*. emz" file?

I receive an weekly email from a colleague, usually has some name.gif files
attached since the body of the email has those images in it. This week, it
had an extra file like... name.emz. Wondered if anyone knows what this is
I seriously doubt it's a virus, it gave no McAfee alarms. Could it be
something associated with a newer version of Windows or Outlook or other?
I'm not familiar with the emz
filetype.

Just did a quick search on google for "file type emz" and it comes up as a
Windows Compressed Enhanced Metafile. Just says graphic format for Office
and Visio and that they could be nothing more than zipped EMF files.
