Not receiving email -- Outlook 2003

I have my inbox configured to download email from multiple accounts. I was
able to receive email yesterday, but not today even after multiple reboots.

Even stranger, I have two laptops on the same wireless connection -- one
downloaded email and one did not!
Help!
Any ideas from anybody about why this is happening and how it can solved?

Any error messages? Is email scanning enabled?

Thanks for your response. No error messages. Email scanning is disengaged.
Some email finally began arriving, but not all of the email that is sitting
in the inboxes of gmail and verizon! Very frustating!
Am grateful for any suggestions!
