>Greetings! I use MS Word 2000 as my email editor in Outlook 2000 and currently have HTML set as the email format. This works well when I am authoring the email; however, when I am replying to or forwarding someone else's email, Outlook seems to limit me to replying/forwarding in the same format as the author of the email used. This is most bothersome with the Plain Text format, where I lose the ability to use bold, italics, different font sizes, etc.

No. The only way to force an HTML format reply to a plain text message is to
change the format manually. BTW - when someone sends a message in plain
text, they normally do it because they don't want to use/see HTML. Changing
your reply to HTML is bad mail etiquette.
