Sounds like you may have a third-party compressor application integrated
with Outlook. Where in Outlook is this compression controlled?

What types os attachments elicit this option? What EXACTLY does the pop-up
say? Does any type of attachment or only images? If the former, you may
have Winzip or some other compression software that is producing the
dialogue box and the option would be controlled by that software, if indeed
it can be controlled at all.

Any attachments directly from Outlook give me the option to compress. It
brings up a message box called "Compression Options" with two radio buttons
available to use named "Compress to Zip file" or "Do not compress".
If I have used a word document for example and use the File / Send To / Mail
Recipient (as attachment). This does not give me this message box at all.
I will have a look at the winzip options when I can get onto the computer I
had been using that was having the problem.
Thanks heaps for your help, I will put an update when sorted.

This, to me, lends even more weight to the argument that you have an add-in
doing the asking. The File>Send To path often avoids add-ins.
