I need to Reply to e-mail messages that I have received that contain
attachments. In my "reply" I need these attachments to be included - can
this be done?

Why? The sender of the message already HAS the attachments!

You might use Forward option

I guess Gordon doesn't work the same way I do. I am a Professor at a local
University. All of my students this semester are going to be sending their
homework assignments as attached Word documents. I want to be able to open
the attachment, mark up the papers, place a grade on them and then be able to
just hit the reply button and have the assignment returned to them for their
review/files. I do NOT want to have to do a forward and re-type all of the
437 student's e-mail addresses, or to even remember which student I was
marking up at the time. PLEASE MICROSOFT MVPs Can this be done? As was
indicated in the original posting?

2 simple alternatives as far as I can see:

Either Mark paper, save and close document, copy attachment (right click,
copy), hit reply button and then paste attachment back into the reply.

Or Mark paper, save and close document, copy 'from' address, hit forward
button and then paste student's email address into to box.

Some assignments can have as many as 10 documents, that would be over 4000 documents to rename, re-attach, and paste. OR copy addresses. If this is the best Microsoft can do for a simple need, then sorry. I guess I will go back to Opera where it can be done, or Thunderbird where it's done. I had hoped to integrate Outlook with the rest of Microsoft Office functionality.

Sorry to have bothered all of you at MS and at the discussion group.

Well you have to admit that is a VERY specialised function and as the vast
majority of Outlook users are in commercial scenarios, my comments were
perfectly normal!

Hang on - it's not half as bad as you are making out! You won't have to name
or rename any of the documents. Just double click to open them, and then hit
the save button and close when you have finished marking. In view of the
multiple attachments on each email, use my second option. It will only take
you seconds if that. Good luck.
