How do you get Outlook 2003 pst files to load into Outlook 2002?

I have Outlook 2003 on my work PC and Outlook 2002 in my home PC. How can I
transfer my pst files from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2002? I get an error
message that says the two are not compatible. Is there any other way to keep
my Calendar, Contact and saved messages on both PC's?

Just use the older file type.
In Outlook 2003: File > New > Outlook Data File > Outlook 97-2002 Personal
Folders file.

Don't use the newer Unicode format for OL2003's PST file(s). Older versions
of Outlook use the ANSI format.

1. Start Outlook 2003.
2. On the File menu, click Data File Management, and then click Add.
3. Click Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (PST).
4. Click OK.
5. Click OK to accept the default name, and then click OK again. (Outlook
2003 now creates a new .pst file that is based on the earlier .pst file and
maintains the ANSI formatting for that .pst file.)
6. Click Close.
7. At the bottom of the navigation pane, click Folder List.
8. In the navigation pane, you now see the new .pst file.
9. Drag the information from your existing Outlook 2003 folders to the new
.pst file. You may also use the Import and Export Wizard on the File menu to
move the information from your existing Outlook 2003 folders to the new .pst
file.
10. In the navigation pane, right-click the new .pst file, and then click
Close " file_name ".

Now you can use this PST file to import the data into Outlook 2002.

However, before taking Russ or Vanguard's advice, I would check with my mail
admin at work to ensure that it is okay to switch back to the older format.
Never change work imposed settings to accommodate personal preferences
without clearing it with the powers that be.
