I am trying to find out if I can create a rule to move messages that are cc'd
to a distribution list into a specific folder. Any messages I receive that
are sent to the distribution list directly are moved to the appropriate
folder, but not if they are cc'd to the list. Any ideas? Thanks.

What's the exact rule text?

Well, that looks right and it should be working.

Can you try moving the rule to the top of the list and adding 'Stop processing
more rules' just to see if that makes it start working?

Nope, doesn't work. I also tried deleting the rule and starting over, but
that didn't do the trick either.

What type of distribution list is this? Exchange, a listserv type list, or
a personal dl?

I am guessing it is an Exchange list. It was set up by our mail
administrator and all addresses are internal to our network.

Can you remove the 'except' clause to test?

Ok. Well.

Something I should have suggested from the get-go. If you do a Run Rules
Now and run just this rule on the Inbox, does it move the message?

No, the message still won't move.

Windows XP and Outlook 2007
Yes, my other rules seem to work just fine. But, none of others have to do
with distribution lists.

What OS and what version of Outlook?
Do other rules work?

How did you create the rule? Manually or by right clicking on a message and
hitting Create Rule?

I did it manually. I have created other rules by right clicking and choosing
create rule. Maybe I will try that for this one...

Try it automatically, because that rule should work in essence.

That seems to be working. I think someone changed the distribution list
because some said 'IRC' and some said IRC and only one of the two would go
into the folder. So I created a rule for each one and that has taken care of
the problem.
Thank you so much for your help!!!
