I have a user with a hyphenated last name. It is permitted in her webmail
account, but I'm having trouble with Outlook sending mail.

Hyphens are legal characters in mail addresses. Care to post the exact text

account?

It's an IMAP account and the problem turned out to be my error - I hadn't
entered her entire email address on setup. Thank you all very much for your
prompt replies.
