Is there a way to disable signatures on new templates?

I read previous responses to this question, but since its been ~3 months and
the responses did not clearly says "yes" or "no", I figured I'd ask again.

Previous Response to the same question:

"By "a template mail," do you mean a custom form .oft file? Outlook always
inserts the signature at the top of the message, but the behavior for custom
forms has changed recently. See

It doesn't sound like you provided enough information for anyone to be able to give a yes or no answer. Was there something about the previous response that you didn't understand or were not able to get to work?

Sue:

Sorry about that. The previous response addressed where the form put the
signature. It did not address the question of disabling the signature for
forms, but not new mail messages. Another post you replied to with this
question suggested service packs, which do not solve the issue. So, yes or
no, is it possible to disable signatures for .oft/templates while
simultaneously leaving them on for new mail messages? If yes, please
explain. If no, please just reply with "no".

Are you running Outlook 2003 SP2? The NoAutosigOnCustomForms registry value detailed in the KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=840393 affects only published forms, not .oft form template files. Therefore, if you need to avoid signatures on messages created from your form, publish it, rather than using an .oft file.

So, does this registry value have to be changed on each individual machine
that will be using the template, or is there some easier way to administer it
accross a network?

Thanks!

Yes, as a client setting, the registry value would need to be applied for each user. You can do that with a Group Policy Object, login script, or any other method you commonly use to deploy registry settings.

Hi - I have a follow-on to this thread.... I've created a message based form
and have published this form to one of our public folders. All of the users
are using Outlook 2003 SP3 but just to make sure, I've tested a user
specifcally with the registry edit previously suggested. Anyway, the form
can be used and edited and the form looks correct when received except for
the fact that the form includes MY signature information, regardless of who
sends the message. Any thoughts on how to either disable the signature or
have it show correctly for the person who authored the particular message
using that published form?

Did you publish it with your signature in it?
