Hallo,
I have the need to use an IMAP account with OL2002. My
problem is that the Draft and the Sent Items folder must
reside in the .pst file. The problem is that, when I send
a message this is stored in my .pst folder, not in my
Imap folder...

According to Microsoft, it is not possible to move
special folders (they must stay in your .pst file). Is
there any workaround, i.e. running a small macro to copy
the content of one folder (my Sent Items on my .pst file)
to another one (on my sent items on the imap
folder)??????????? (can't use Exchange Sever or anything
that fancy).

Actually, something similar to what ActiveSync does to
synchronize a Pocket PC would be perfect (i.e. it does
synchronize only a small amount of messages, say the
leatest ones, according to the selected settings)

Thank you very much
Giovanni

Giovanni,

I had a similar problem. I am setup for Internet Mail Only and IMAP. With
OL2000, I had no problem setting up a rule to keep a copy of my sent mail in
an IMAP folder. When I upgraded to OL2002, I ran into the problem you
encountered.

I have a Problem Report on file with Microsoft concerning this regression.

There is a work-around though....

You will need to create a (dummy) POP3 email account. Once that account is
created, create your "sent mail" rule using that account, rather than the
IMAP account. You do this by the Rules Wizard dialog box ... In the "Apply
changes to this folder" drop-down list box, choose the (dummy) POP3 account.
Then create your rule "Apply this rule after I send the message, move a copy
to the [IMAP] folder and stop processing more rules." Do not have any "Apply
this rule after I send the message ..." rules for the IMAP account.

Hope this helps!

Thank you,
it works perfectly! It is kind of weird having an extra
account called dummy (didn't you have any better neme?
just kidding). I only made one change: I added do not
process if there is an attach, since I do not have too
much space on the server and sometimes I need to send
pretty big files. Please let me know if Microsoft finds
any solution a bit less "work-around"...

Thank you.
