Hi all,

I'm trying to import a Windows CSV file (My Yahoo Address book) and the
Import function consistently fails. I've tried going the other way and
Exporting the Contacts folder fails as well. I've tried other formats as
well. I always get the "send error info to Microsoft" dialogue. This is
happening on several computers.

I've seen this discussed before but have never seen a definitive
resolution. Is there a fix for this issue?

Thanks,
--
Tim.

I think the issue is with Yahoo - I believe that unless you are a subscriber
to their full email package, the option to import/export addresses is blocked
by Yahoo. I could be wrong......

Exporting the CSV file from Yahoo is not an issue. This worked just fine
with Outlook 2003. Also that doesn't explain the inability to export the
Outlook Contacts folder to a Windows CSV file (or Excel either for that
matter).

This is clearly an issue with Outlook 2007.

do you have the full suite or standalone outlook? did you try office
diagnostics? Does the event viewer give a reason for the failure? It should
if it wants to send the error (which you should do).

I am using the full suite (SP1). The Diagnostics were clean. I did send the
error to Microsoft. The "Error signature" is the following:

AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 12.0.6300.5000 AppStamp:4760725d
ModName: oladd.fae ModVer: 12.0.4518.1014 ModStamp:45417457
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00008c24

And this was in the Office event log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Office 12 Sessions
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7001
Date: 2008/03/24
Time: 09:26:04
User: N/A
Computer: PCAB408-TM
Description:
ID: 6, Application Name: Microsoft Office Outlook, Application Version:
12.0.6300.5000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.6215.1000. This session
lasted 61 seconds with 60 seconds of active time. This session ended with a
crash.

Were you able to resolve this issue? I am experiencing the same
thing. Outlook 2007 w/exchange server. I tried several different
types of exports and they all crashed. The event log records event
id: 1000.

I am having this problem as well, on multiple computers in our environment.
We are using Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Plus with service pack 1
installed. When performing an import or an export, outlook 2007 crashes and
the error message points to oladd.fae. We are using Symantec Antivirus
10.1.7.7000, and Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. Reinstalling Office
2007 didn't resolve the issue, and diagnostics didn't come up with any
problems. Over the weekend I wiped my laptop and started from scratch, and
I'm still having the problem. I am not using an msp file with the
installation, and during the install I chose to run everything from the hard
drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as we have Office 2007 on our
roadmap, but this error may push back the deployment date.

Today I logged an incident with Microsoft and worked with them on this issue.
I had the Microsoft Exchange tools installed on my computer, and the other
members that were having the problem had Microsoft Exchange tools installed
as well. The issue was resolved by uninstalling the Microsoft Exchange tools
and then running fixmapi. The Microsoft support technician referenced
kb266418, where it stated that Microsoft does not support installing the
Microsoft Exchange components on a computer that has Microsoft Outlook
installed.
