Outlook automatically checks my e-mail.

When I open up Outlook, it automatically checks my e-mail.
How do I set it so it only checks mail when I want it to??

Also, it never asks me for my password. I'd like it to ask me first.

Disable the ability to have Outlook do an automatic Send/Receive. What
version of Outlook are you using?

Click Tools>Options>Mail Setup>Send/Receive and remove the automatic
send/receive intervals. That will cause Outlook to wait for you to manually
perform a send/receive.
