maximum number of recipients in TO- and CC-field

In the fight against spam and virusses, I would suggest to have a warning
appaer when three/four or more e-mail addresses are put in the TO- or
CC-field of a composed e-mail.
Someting like "when sending out mail to multiple recipients it's wise to put
them in the BCC-field and your own address in the TO-field". Clicking 'OK'
would then do so automatically.
Not only do I think this could reduce the amount of spam and virusses on the
net (send by someone's infected mailprogram with your address in it), it also
leads to less iritation at the recievers end.

Wouldn't work. Way too many other programs out there to email from that
don't have this option. And even if they all did this there's still ways to
send an email from a command line and not using an email program at all as
you would recognize it.

That's the same as stating that an airbag in a Volvo wouldn't reduce the
number of people killed in a carcrash, because other manufacturers don't make
them. Besides that; if it works, they might also consider using it.

The majority of home-users sending out bulk e-mail, which do so with all
recipients in the TO-field are using Outlook or Express. I would like to see
you put your whole addressbook in on the commandline ;-)
It isn't meant a the definite solution, but it could help.

Would not work. Using the To or CC fields lets the recipients know who is
required to act on the information (To line) and who needs to be able to
check up on the required person's actions (CC line.) I often send email to
several people (more than 4) with CCs to many more.

I do not think that Outlook should be responsible for preventing spammers
and other low-lives. It is the ISPs and the mail servers that should step
up. The mail client is almost never responsible for the number of emails
sent from a single account per day. It is the mail server or ISP that allows
it to pass through their servers that must take responsibility.

Having said that, you do know that their are specific mail servers set up to
send spam and only spam, right?

without my email getting thrown to spam boxes? Will doing what you said...

My goal is to be able to send to them with the other addresses hidden. I've
tried mail merging and it only worked WITHOUT ATTACHMENTS, plain text format
only.
