Can't remove automated email signature (Outlook 2003). Help!

I've been too clever for my own good somewhere along the line. I usually
send my emails out with a logo & Signature. No problems. I can get rid of
that. (Tools - Options - Mail Format: Set 'Signature for new messages' to
<None>. Apply).
I've currently got my work email account set up to not show a signature.
(<None>). If I open a new message it is completely blank.
However, on sending an email to myself in HTML, Rich Text or Plain Text that
appears to be completely blank when written, I still receive a plain
signature with no logo. Somehow I've set this up to happen but I've no idea
how to stop it. Why is it a problem? Because I've unwittingly been sending
out emails that I think just have my Mail Formatted Signature with logo (as
that's all I can see), but the recipients are receiving 2 sets of my
signature.
If I send an email via another email account on the same computer, I don't
have this problem.
Could someone help reduce my plonka levels? MANY thanks in advance.

The work account is adding the signature? What type of email server do you
use at work? Could it be adding the signature? Many companies do add
signatures or disclaimers to outgoing mail.

Thanks Diane. Nup. The Signature is definitely something I've set up.
In this case it's not something that the company has added.
It's weird. If I look at the email in the Sent Folder the second Signature
isn't visable.
I checked to make sure it wasn't there in white text.

Please appreciate that I'm a 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing thing
computer user'.
I know I spent some time looking at the problems of sending HTML emails to
people that had their email system set up to receive emails in Plain Text
format. ie; The pictures that also contained the sender's signature would be
knocked off. Possibly by company somputers.
I probably found a way that made sure that my details would still be
visible.
Naturally, I've completely forgotten what simple trick I managed to find on
the internet.
Or at least, I THINK that's what I must have done!

if the signature is not on the message in the sent box, its added after
sending. If the smtp server isn't doing it, a 3rd party app on your computer
is.

Sounds logical. The only thing that I can find that I've downloaded is
phpFormMailer & formmail - but I think I looked at that for my website.
Could that be my guilty party? I don't intentionally download much software.
Any ideas how I can get rid of the automated signature? [Polite suggestions,
plz :) ]

No, I don't think its php - formmail is used on websites. What antivirus
software do you use? Does it scan email? I'm not aware of any that do
disclaimers, but that is one possibility.

Drat!
Nup. Just AVG Anti-Virus & Ad-Aware.
Anything I safely delete or re-install easily that you reckon might solve
this?

By any chance did you have another AV installed before AVG (i.e. Eset) where you
invoked the email confirmation of scanning along with your emails ?

No, no other Anti-Virus.
I've always used Explorer but changed to Firefox recently.
Don't suppose they have some fancy setting that I could have played with
that might account for this?
