how do I delete stored attachments from the OLK folders?

to an OLK1 directory and these now amount to several hundred megabytes.
I cannot find these OLKI1 directories utilizing Windows Explorer so how can
I delete these from my computer? (I know I can delete these one at a time,
but there are nbow several thousan in all file formats and it will take for
ever)
Performance is apparenlty starting to suffer and this process cannot continue

Windows Explorer has modifications that prevent you from seeing the contents
of that folder. That's why I suggested iusing the tool on the web page I
cited. It looks in the registry for the path to the temp folder.

It would be really nice if Microsoft rethought that whole design because
that's a pretty major flaw. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that
way. Eudora for example, allows users to choose where attachments can go
(without performing a 'Save As') and later delete them at their discretion.
I don't think it would be all that hard to add that to Outlook.

In Outlook, attachments aren't extracted from the messages automatically.
Only when you open the attachment does it get extracted. You do, however,
have the ability to choose the location of the folder where this extraction
occurs by modifying a registry entry.
