Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same issue as me with
the Outlook 2007 message editor? When I'm typing a message, plain text or
HTML, the characters on the screen seem to lag everso slightly behind my
typing. While I'm not the greatest typist in the world the delay is just
enough to be annoying and off putting. It was never something I'd
experienced in previous versions of Outlook.

Any help gratefully accepted.

Thanks,

Steve

Nope, I'm not experiencing that issue (running on Vista) even when I'm
typing rubbish really really fast ;-)

Do you have any add-ins installed? Do you experience the same behavior when
typing in Outlook Safe Mode?

Hi,

Yep I get the same behaviour in Safe Mode. There are a number of add-ins
installed, the active ones being:

Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service
Outlook Backup Addin
PDFMOutlook
Search.OutlookToolbar.

Cheers,

Stevee

If you try disabling them one by one until your performance improves, does that help? Do all of these add-ins advertise compatibility with Outlook or only Outlook 2003 and earlier?

Milly,

I've worked through the add-ins disabling them but it did make a
difference. I've also tried a full reinstall as the initial installation
was an upgrade installation rather than a full one, the issue is still
there.

Thanks for the help so far folks.

Sorry to hear you're having the same problems, but it's reassuring it's
not just me!

The problem is worse in the Outlook editor but there is also a slight
delay in Word.

I'm going to have to revert back to 2003 for now. Maybe I'll try 2007
the next time I do a fresh O/S install.
