What does re mean in an email subject line?

email subject lines mean?

Possibly, however, it's just an indication that a message is either a Reply
or a Forward.

Is there a way to stop the RE: OR FW: From being automactically added. I have
no idea why this user would care but she asked me to see if it can be done. I
am having no luck. Thanks for the help

Nothing in the product. Could always write code to do it, but there isn't
an option apart from manual.
