ERROR CODE 80040900 APPEARS AFTER RECEIVING E-MAIL. ANY IDEAS?

I can send and receive e-mails, no problem, but after sending/ receiving a
message comes up stating

"server name entered cannot be found on the network ( it might be down
temporarily) please verify that you are on-line and that the server name is
correct"

error code 0x80040900

I cannot find this error code on any help sites.
Error relates to POP3 receiving task. Other tasks all actioned.

Any advice most welcome!! Thank you
