1) BCM should fill in the File As field automatically from the Account Name
that you specify. If that's not what you're seeing, please give the exact
text of any error message or other symptoms.

2) This sounds like a forms cache or forms corruption issue. See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;836558

3) The ActiveSync program from Microsoft definitely cannot synchronize
multiple contacts or journal folders, which is what BCM uses. Third-party
tools may be able to do so. Chapura has updated its PocketMirror
Professional utility to work with the Business Contacts folder from BCM.

A forthcoming version of Intellisync will support BCM, but the version 5.3
or earlier does not.

I have also heard of people using Pocket Contact Synchronizer, a free tool
from Microsoft, to copy contacts automatically from the BCM Business
Contacts folder to your main Contacts folder. The main Contacts folder can
be synchronized with any PDA sync tool.

> Hello, I'm new to BCM after using Outlook for the past year. I've loaded
BCM and have encountered the following problems. 1) When I attempt to
enter a new 'account' I do not get a 'file as' field. As a result, the
system will not file the account. 2) When I attempt to create a new
'account' or new 'business contact' my email list is pulled into the history
section. Why does this happen? Can I avoid it? Or delete it? 3) after
reading many of these messages, it appears that my ActiveSynch program (for
my IPAQ) will not synch with the BCM folder, is this true? Thank you in
advance for your ideas/advice.

Sue, thanks for helping.
In my Account form, there is no 'file as' field like there is on the contact form.
When I type an account name and attempt to save the file, I get the message "The File As field for this contact is empty. You may not have entered a name or comapny. Do you want to save this contact with an empty File As field?" If yes (then the record is created without a name), if no (then the same form reappears.)
If I click/drag a contact record to the Account folder, then a named contact record is created. The Account History file still reflects my in basket, despite having cleared forms cache and restarting Outlook. That's the only method I tried per the article.
What's next??
Dave

This still sounds like a possible form corruption problem. I would try
republishing the BCM forms, as the article describes. And if that doesn't
fix it, I would reinstall BCM.
