Windows XP 2 Proffesional - Office XP

Having recently changed from M/S Anti Spyware to Windows Defender; when I
download a normal message from Hotmail into Outlook, a message appears
apparently originating from Windows Defender.

This is from one such occasion displayed in my Event Viewer - System folder
:
Event ID; 3004
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: WinDefend
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3004
Date: 22/03/2006
Time: 15:12:14
User: N/A
Description:
Windows Defender Real-Time Protection agent has detected potential malware.
For more information please see the following:

Scan ID: {F599AEE4-A530-442A-8758-D503D7A56142}
Threat Name: Unknown
Threat Id:
Threat Severity:
Threat Category:
Path Found: driver:SDDMI2
Threat Classification: Unknown
Detection Type:

telling me a program is trying to access my contact's e-addresses.

When I click on NO to dissallow access for this program, Outlook freezes /
hangs and can only be closed by Ctrl / Alt / Delete ... and then it takes
some time to close..

MailWasher scans all my mails before I download the good ones and my system
is 100% clear of any viruses, trojans or malware.

Can anyone hazard a guess as to which of the above programs are causing the
problem and how to fix it please ?

Cheers

Hello David,

Do see one of the security groups.
MS has setup specific newsgroups for Windows Defender (Beta 2).
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/newsgroups/default.mspx

One such group is
microsoft.private.security.spyware.general

The problem only started after i installed Norton 2006.
