How come I can't send attachments using outlook?

I try to send emails with an attachment (word file, excel file) and outlook
attempts to send the messsage but it can never go. It just keeps trying and
trying.

I think we'll need more info to help you here. Please clarify which version
of Outlook you are using, your email account type and whether this issue
occurs all the time and for all messages.

I have Outlook 2002 with Windows XP. My internet is DSL. I can never send
attachments in Outlook. In order to send attachments, I go into my internet
provider email and send it from there. I would love to be able to send an
attachment from Outlook
