Our company sends out a fax everyday containing our latest offers to 400 customers. We want to test the water at sending it out via email.
As the faxes are a proven way to gain sales we are reluctant to change over to sending the shots out entirely through email but want to give it a good go by first using both methods.
We have outlook on the system would this be a safe and efficient way to send out large mailshots such as this?

I can see no problem with what you want to achieve - we regularly e-
mail our clients. A caveat: you ought to put an opt-in to the e-mail
so that you are not considered as a spammer! By the same toke,
consider putting in an opt-out too. We use the Categories field as
our criteria to e-mail.

thanks, do you send out html emails if so what is the best way to do this?
I have used outlook express before to email 200+ customers and the emails came through full of errors, I'm not sure if I was doing it wrong or whether it was a fault with outlook express, I would expect outlook to be more stable.

Outlook isn't a mass-mailer. A google will find you some, or try our email
scheduler (http://www.lbetoolbox.com/scheduleemail.htm) which will allow you
to send multiple individual emails, html or plain text, with attachments,
either as a one-off or regularly at a specified time and interval. The
recipients list can be drawn from your Outlook Contacts, a plain text
file,database or spreadsheet.
