I have hidden completed tasks from the task panel, (and from the ToDo List)
But in Outlook Today the Task Column shows all tasks including the completed
ones.

By the way,

I dont mind showing completed tasks in the task panel, it makes sense that
the entire list would be there. But its strange that they would show in a
ToDo List or in Outlook Today.

Tried changing the setting.
This had no effect - maybe I need to explain better.

Open Outlook
In the Folder list select Mailbox - "LeJeune, Larry"

In the middle panel heading is Mailbox - LeJeune, Larry - Outlook Today
under the heading is three Columns, Calender, Tasks, and Messages

Im looking to hide the completed tasks in this column.

You explained just fine.

Now that I think about it some more, I don't think you can hide completed
tasks unless you write your own Outlook Today page. Changing the display
settings to show today's tasks and including tasks with no due date is as
close as you can come. Completed tasks won't be part of today's tasks and
won't show.
