When I check my e-mail, I see the normal "send receive" down in the status
bar, as well as the "receiving message 1 of 2", or whatever. My inbox will
then show new messages in the inbox, but there's no new messages in my inbox.
Sometimes, I can find them in the Unread search folder, but usually I have to
restart Outlook to find them. Has anyone encountered this?

Have you tried this already in a new profile? (Control Panel, Mail).

No, I havent. It just started after switching to 2007 from 2003, and effects
all users on the machine.

Should I try and create a new profile? Will that effect mail already
downloaded?

I also notice that my pst file is around 1.1GB. Maybe I should prune out
some old and un=needed email to see if that has an effect.

Try to create a new profile and add your current PST to it. Pruning
prob. doesn't help.

A new profile will not affect enything already downloaded, but if you leave
messages on the server, Outlook will believe them all to be new and download
them again.
