You can create HTML formatted e-mails directly in Outlook. If you need to do
soem advanced HTML-ing and rather create that in an HTML-editor simply save
the htm-file to disk first. Then in Outlook use Insert-> File-> select
file-> press the little dowpdown arrow on the Insert button and choose
Insert as Text.

Place your pictures on a webserver to keep the actual e-mail as small as
possible. In general this is the most appreciated method of sending
newsletters.

Hello
Currently I send html newsletters/announcments etc by saving the files as
jpgs and file>insert so that they are embedded into the body of the email
and
instantly viewable. How do I create an html newsletter that is not a jpg.
Meaning when viewed in the email program it appears more like an actual
webpage. (selectable text, links images etc)
Can I create webpages .htm or .html) and put them online but is there a way
to make them viewable within the preview box as the page vs just viewing the
hyperlink. PLease help, I know this can be done but really need some step-by
step instructions... thanks, MM

Were you able to achieve this? I created an htm in Dreamweaver and inserted
it into Outlook but the graphics do not appear, any ideas?

Depends on your method. Reference to the pictures on a webserver in the HTML
source and you should be fine.

Both text and graphics must be embedded in the email message; I don't
think Dreamweaver can do that, unless it is an extension of Outlook.
Using Word as email editor, or even the native Outlook editor can do
that (but it won't let you edit the HTML source code).

I'm using 2007 version and i can't use the way you suggested - the style
format in the coding is missing when i copy and paste the HTML into the email
body, so some style which i set previously is different. However i cannot
find a way to insert the HTML file into the body so that i can see the
content properly, instead of an attachment. Anyway to do this?

Open a new message. On the "Message" tab ribbon at the top, click the

Thanks. I was eventually able to figure this out. I then wrote a set of
"instructions" for neophytes liek myself (a bit more detailed):

How to Insert HTML Code in Email
1. Open email
2. In email body - right click – click on “View Source”
3. Insert html code where wanted
4. Save & close file
5. Open new email
6. In email body – click insert – click attach file
7. Select file you saved
8. Click down arrow on insert button in insert window
9. Click “insert as text”
10. What you wanted to insert in email should now appear there.
If you want to insert code in email you are just sending, send to self
first, then do above.
