When I choose to archive the items in my outlook, what is being archived? I
have lots of subfolders and it seems as though none of them are being saved.

How can I clean up my inbox but still be able to use the search function of
Outlook to find information? I thought about burning all the older items to
a disc but then I use the handy search feature that Outlook has.

My Outlook file is growing larger day by day, can anyone help?

Thanks

Chris

Look in the help files under Archive.

You need to setup the archiving rules for each folder (or top level and tick include sub-folders) so that items are removed from the 'live' folders after being copied to the archive. Once your strategy is in place you can keep the archive 'open' by File, open .pst and continue to use the search features.
