In Outlook 98, after checking my messages on my POP3 account, the next time
I check them, the messages are downloaded again. In other words, they are
remaining on the server. However, I do not have "leave messages on the
server" under accounts, advanced.

Could it be possible that Outlook is getting an error in retrieval that
causing it to not finish the retrieval process (and the deletion phase)?
