Why can't I send pdf attachments in Outlook?

larger just sit in the Outbox and never go. Why?!! All other emails go out
just fine. This isn't a virus issue, and I've confirmed that my DSL's not
the issue, since I can use my internet browser to email the same larger files
without any trouble.
Something in Outlook is hanging up..I've used the Repair utility and it's
still not working. Anyone got any ideas on why pdf's are causing Outlook's
Outbox a serious case of constipation?

Do small .pdfs email fine? Do other attachments in excess of 1MB send fine?
Any errors in the Send/Receive dialog box? (F9)

Your conclusion doesn't follow at all. Sending from Outlook to your ISP's
mail server isn't in any way equivalent to sending from the mail server
directly using a web browser. Chances are excellent that your ISP's SMTP
server won't accept a file as large as you're trying to send. Make sure
you're not scanning outgoing messages with an antivirus program and make
sure your send/receive interval is at least 10 minutes.

unexplained reason my recent attampts to mail several larger files (all
pdf's, by the way) end in the Outbox constipation issue. I've re-named
them, re-packaged them, tried sending them to various addresses including my
own, and they just sit there. Closing and opening Outlook doesn't help
either.
I may try to uninstall and reinstall Office....a hassle, but not sure what
else is left. BTW, I worked with my DSL provider tech and pretty quickly
figured out that the attachments will email via the internet browser, but not
in Outlook. Addresses and attachments are the same in each case, so it's
gotta be something with Outlook. Ideas?

files but pdfs just will not go out or be received by me - there are 3 other
computers in this room. none of them have any problem - it must be somewhere
in the settings of the machine - did you have any luck????

pdfs will not send or be received.
Other computers in the office, on the same network, do not have the problem!
I feel it must be somewhere in the way the computer is set up, rather than
the program? But i dont know! Any advice?

I'm correcting my original issue to say that it's not just larger pdf's that
won't mail, it's ANY emails of more than a megabyte or so. Per Will's
question back in May, my ISP limits me to ten MB, so that's not the issue.
This happens ONLY on my laptop with OUTLOOK 2003; my desktop with exactly the
same program and setut characteristics has no problem sending larger files.
Will, my turnaround time tosend/receive is15 minutes, and more than adequate
to be able to send a couple of meg's in a single email. And I don't scan
outgoing email with virus protection. Joe, I think you're on to it...it
seems like it has to be the computer's limitations/config and not the ISP or
some other outside issue. Wish I was more help....still haven't fixed my
major headache and have no idea what to do next. Any ideas or insights
would be greatly appreciated.

When you say they "won't send", what happens when you try? Do they set
placed in Sent Items? If so, it's a server issue, not an Outlook issue. An
item moving from Outbox to Sent Items is a sign that the server accepted the
message from Outlook. If the server accepted it, it's no longer in Outlook.

Try enabling diagnostic logging and seeing what's happening between Outlook
and your server.

the issue. What type of computer are you experiencing this with? Mine's an
eMachines laptop, about 2 years old.
