I am experiencing a problem that I don't understand. I have an email box,
"info@..." which is used only for receiving a form from a website. In the
account setup, it is not set up to enable it to send (i.e. no account
verification info), since any replies to this form will be sent from another
account address. The last few weeks, when I check email in Outlook, I keep
getting an error message that this email box was unable to send due to being
unable to verify authorization. I am not trying to send anything from this
address, and there is nothing in my outbox that could be from that address.
I don't know what it is trying to send or why, or how to delete whatever it
is so it will stop trying. Any ideas? Please respond to me at
"personal(remove this)@LStone.net". Thanks. Larry

There are probably mail experts in here that can answer this better than me.
But, one thing I have read is that many POP accounts require a sending logon
negotiation prior to receiving. Perhaps Outlook just does that by default
whether there is something waiting to go out or not.

You might want to check out Tools | Email Accounts | Next | More Settings |
Outgoing Server Tab | Check the block "Logon to incoming mail server before
sending mail".

Hi Frank,

Thanks for responding. I have a number of email accounts and more than one
is set up to not send. This has normally not been a problem, and in fact the
reason they are set up that way is so that I won't accidentally send a reply
from that box without switching addresses. It should not try to send unless
there is something to send, which is what is so mysterious about this. What
I don't understand is why this one box keeps trying to send something, even
though my outbox is empty. Thanks for trying though.
