I had a version of Outlook, I installed Office 2007 Home and Student. When I
opened my Outlook all my archieved mail was gone. On one of Microsofts
websites it said I could not retrieve my messages unless I had Outlook 2007.
So I downloaded the Office Professional 2007 trial, after I retrieved my
archieved mail I uninstalled the trial version. I am unable to find any
Oulook at all on the computer and the Mail Icon in the control panel is no
longer there. I appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thank you.

Hi Laur,

this "Mail Icon" is no more available in Outlook 2007.

search for "mlcfg32.cpl"

and doubleclick on this file.

Further information:

"Control Panel Files, Problems and Fixes"
http://www.geocities.com/~budallen/ctrlpanel.html

Maybe it helps.
