I have been fooling around with outlook 2002 for a day, and I finally got the
program to sync with my PDA through Active sync, however I can no longer read
and send mail through hotmail or Netscape. I have read through several
threads and cannot seeem to find anyone else with this problem... (maybe I am
l=not looking enough), but I keep getting an error message that says "a
connection to the sever could not be established (MSN hotmail website) is now
in offline mode. and It will not connect. i have tried tinkering with
firewall settings on and off and such however it still will not allow either
accounts to access the net. please help - Chris King

Just a hunch. Under the File menu, are you in Offline mode?

Unfortunately no, it is not that simple, thank you for the advice, I checked
anyways.

Netscape mail will not work natively with Outlook. Period. You *can* get
third-party applications that will allow you to read Web-based mail in
Outlook. Whether any of these will work with Netscape I don't know....

I am running IE as a web rowser if that is what you are talking about
however I have an @netscape.net account, but my main concern is finding how
to get my hotmail account to wor, sinc it is my primary e-mail address, and I
was hoping once it was set up in Outlook 2002, it would sync the settings
with my PDA's version of outlook

Is this a new Hotmail account, or have you had it for years? And yes,
@netscape.net mail will NOT work natively with Outlook.

Assuming it's a hotmail account that used to work in Outlook, it's not going
to sync with the PDA because it's not the default store. You'd need the MOOL
service to sync. http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/mool.htm

If netscape.net supports imap or pop, you can use it in outlook (or any
other mail client), if it's web only, you cannot unless a utility supports
it. Such utilities are listed near the end of this page:
