Tools-Instant Search-Advanced Find will do the trick.

FWIW, filing messages in a myriad of subfolders really isn't a good way to
manage mail, in part because finiding it is much harder.

As to not using sub-folders - is there another approach? I get 100 - 200
e-mails each and every day on a wide range of topics and often have to make
reference to individual e-mails I received months ago. I use all those
folders and sub-folders to help me keep track of what I have and haven't
dealt with and to help locate things when I need them. What other method of
organization exists within Outlook?

I've a question somehow related to this, witch is:
When I try to search in the PUBLIC FOLDERS, I can't manage to select
the Subfolders option in the advance find. I've read a little of it in
Microsoft and it seems that there's a king of limitation for this to
happen. But all the messages in PUBLIC FOLDERS are in a single
computer, and they are shared with everybody, so is it or not possible
to search subfolders in the PUBLIC FOLDERS?
Thanks in advance,
JC
