Outlook Account Settings

Hope someone can help me with this,

I want to write an external .exe that connects to outlook/outlook express,
and automatically updates the email account settings, it needs to be able
to scan the account already being used, e.g. blo...@aplace.co.uk and change
it to bl...@aplace.com, but making sure it doesn't accidentally change one
that it shouldnt.

What sort of interface is capable doing this? mapi? wab?

Is there any source code already out there with examples?
