Email is dropping into 2 pst files

I archive my email every three months by opeing a new pst file &
changing Outlook settings to make it the default delivery location.
For reference & easy access, I keep the old pst file open for a few
weeks & then close it.

This time around my email is dropping into the into pst Inbox & also
the old pst Inbox. At times, it drops only to the old pst folder.

I have checked the default delivery location & it is the new pst file.
Also, I have shutdown all the rules & alerts. I am using Lookout 1.2.

Can you please help me.
