What is maximum number of contacts in distribution list

I read that some one says that MS Outlook Distribution List can send out mail
to tens of thousands at a time.

Some one else says his distribution mail with 453 contacts returned
undelivered.
So did mine with only a hundred and odd number in the list.

Well, finally now i dont have the correct answer and dont know what else to
do about it?

Can Microsoft please respond?

A lot is based on your outbound mail server. It usually determines the
maximum number of recipients it will accept on a mail item

I too have a user who has reached the maximum after only 154 addresses. We
are running our own Exchange 2007 server for mail and he is using Outlook Web
Access to update the list. If there is a setting to set this maximum number
on the servers, where is it?

There is no set threshold for the maximum number of recipients, the
limit is based on the total size (kb) of the distro list, so how many
recipients can be included in the list depends on the size of the
contacts for each recipient. For more info:
