Is there a way to have the last name first name appear
when you are sending an email??

I am interested in this as well. I think he means the names that
appear after you create a new mail item and then click on the To:
button. The names are always First Name Last Name. I would like to
show them Last, First or make it like the File As field.

I am using Outlook XP.

I don't see any option for that. Can you be more specific?

Thanks.

More specific? That is the precise path. What part can't you find?
Use the Tools menu in Outlook.
Sort order is either "First Name, Last Name" or "File As...."

That area refers to "new contact". My issue is the appearance of the
names when you click the "To:" button when you are looking at an email
you are sending. On my system the names are sorted by First Name. I
want them to be sorted by last name and display Last Name, First Name
Middle. Can this be done?

Wrong. Please reread my instructions carefully. They do not refer to new
Contacts. They tell you how to sort your existing Contacts. It is as clear
as I can make it.
