Can I get Gmail (HTTP) messages in outlook 2007, if so how?

I can see that I can setup outlook to handle all sorts of emails
including POP3 and HTTP. I have tried setting up a gmail account.
I get the impression that the address is not
just"http://www.gmail.com" but that i must somehow pass other settings
as well. I have entered my login name and password in the appropriate
boxes in the setup wizzard but I just get errors.
Can anyone please suggest how to determine the correct url for the
gmail webmail account please.
