HELP!!! OE6. & XP acting strangely

My Outlook Express 6. has recently started handling incoming messages I reply
too differently, yet I do not think I have changed any settings, nor have I
added any new virus/spam/spyware monitoring programs.

MY SETTINGS: Tools/Options/Send = "Include Message in Reply" (plus all others
checked)

UNTIL RECENTLY: Message arrives...I hit reply...my reply includes text of
original message...I send my reply...the original message REMAINS in my Inbox.

NOW: Message arrives...I hit reply...my reply includes text of original
message...I send my reply...the original message DISSAPEARS from my Inbox.

This is very frustrating and I can not figure out how to change the behavior
back so that my original messages remain in my Inbox. Any help or suggestions
would be greatly appreciated!
