When a meeting is scheduled, it normally arrives in a text form that doesn't
allow acceptance into the Outlook Calendar. The invitations are sent by
Outlook users.

Is this a problem with Outlook or Outlook Calendar, or with the
peculiarities of the sender? Unfortunately, the only senders who's
invitations arrive in a form where they can be accepted into Calendar are
from the same mail server. Is this thus a mail server problem? Any
suggestions? I am using Outlook 2000. -Thanks.

The sender needs to send it as RTF and outlook normally sends internet mail
as html unless you specify RTF format. Some mail servers will delete or
corrupt the RTF information so it's not guaranteed... but it generally
works.

Thanks. But how practical would this be when there are many users out there,
and I can't contact each one to change their outgoing mail format?

Unfortunately, that is the only way it will work. There is nothing you can
do on your end to change it when it arrives as a plain text message. The
best you can do is drag the message to your calendar and create your own
appointments.
