Can the SCOM Agent be installed to a server image for use in automated
builds? We currently have servers being cloned from images and have to
install the SCOM agent (along with other items) afterwards and I would like
to remove as much of that as possible. I've tinkered around with this using
VMs and it seems to work correctly and the agents shows up in the Pending
state with the correct name. I just didn't know if there were any IDs
attached to an install that would conflict at a later point.

Hi Randy,

Yes, you can install the agent and then use AD integration to get its settings.
You install the agent without settings, and when it then starts, it query
AD for settings. take a look at http://contoso.se/blog/?p=157

The document at
"http://systemcenterforum.org/wp-content/uploads/ADIntegration_final.pdf"
seems to be broken. Acrobat Reader dies with the following exception:

AppName: acrord32.exe AppVer: 7.0.5.172 ModName: acrord32.dll
ModVer: 7.0.5.172 Offset: 0006584e
